Moving and handling specialists Care & Independence have reinforced their Business Development Team with the recent appointment of Curtis Farringdon. Joining the company at the start of July, Curtis’s stock is eight years’ experience working in the clinical assistive seating and beds arena. With insight into the daily mobility challenges faced by less-abled, Curtis is also familiar working alongside carers and clinicians in solving complex issues.
“Curtis’s experience stands him in good stead to quickly become a highly efficient member of the Business Development Team”, said James Bennett, Sales & Marketing Director. “During the interview process I was impressed with the commitment Curtis showed for wanting to help improve the lives of others, which is the ultimate goal for Care & Independence. Furthermore, Curtis easily demonstrated the right fit with our company values of being Caring, Friendly & Supportive, Going the Extra Mile, Being Humbly Confident, Working For The Greater Good and having a Growth Mindset – values by which every employee is credited and measured. In recent years the Business Development Team has delivered impressive value with substantial year-on-year growth. I am delighted to welcome Curtis to the team where I am confident he too will make a significant business impact and help drive us towards our goal of improving the lives of one million per year by 2031,” James concluded.
Since specifically targeting the community equipment market with their purpose-developed comfort value® brand, the company has made significant inroad to this market sector, securing numerous contracts with local authorities and working closely alongside loan store operators NRS, Medequip and Millbrook. Noteworthy gains have been made in previously uncultivated territories such as Scotland and in the North-East of England, together with a formidable stronghold in the South - including major contracts multiple authorities where the company is a single source supplier.
Part of the reason behind this success according to Bennett is the company’s capability to offer Close Technical Equivalents (CTEs) at a highly competitive pricepoint. “With comfort value® products, we’ve been able to achieve more efficient design for manufacture without compromising on the quality or performance of the product. We’ve passed these cost-savings onto customers, giving them the best of both worlds. In addition,” he continues, “by combining comfort value® with our premium glove sling and bathing range options, we have the capacity to act as a single source of supply provider – a concept fast gaining traction as it helps reduce overheads, reduces number of SKU’s held and overall value of inventory, increases efficiency and delivers financial savings from the off.”
Curtis is poised to take over the South East from Richard Gomm who was promoted to Key Account Manager earlier in the year and will spend the first few months of his employment undertaking a familiarisation orientation induction. Of his appointment Curtis commented, “I am really looking forward to being part of the team and helping Care & Independence achieve their goal of improving the lives of 1 million people per year by 2031. I can’t wait to get started and hold meaningful conversations with commissioners and clinical leads in my new territory, many of whom I have already met and worked with in the past.”
