Area Sales Manager

Job Purpose:

To work within a defined area supporting the Area Sales Manager (ASM) team to provide assessments, training and demonstrations. Working alongside Clinical leads, Occupational Therapists (OTs), manual handling leads, physiotherapists and other customer contacts to ensure the accurate specifying of equipment and generate leads and opportunities, securing orders for products into both existing customers/accounts and also new customers.

Dimensions:
Product range: Premium Range including GLOVE SLING®, BATHING RANGE & BURNETT REMOULD® products
Channel : Community Equipment Stores, care homes, housing associations, Local Authorities and predominantly those who access the social care budget for funding.

Key Tasks:

  • Supporting the ASM teams area to help deliver a first class service.
  • Carrying out complex assessments, problem solving and recommending the correct products.
  • Maintain, develop and expand strong & long-lasting relationships with customers based on trust & honesty;
  • Diary management, planning of daily assessments, demonstrations and training events.
  • Quote, specification submission to customers, ensuring a responsive and proactive approach.
  • Manage the relationship between Care & Independence, Customers, Clinicians and End Users as the first point of contact;
  • Contribute to the development Care & Independence products through feedback;
  • Demonstrate the USP’s of working with Care & Independence;
  • Design solutions bespoke to the End User and measure/ demonstrate as appropriate;
  • Profitably grow revenue levels of the area by delivering as above and being “go-to” for our customers.
  • Ensure consistency in the achievement of targets and goals set for your area;
  • Work as part of a team to support development and implementation of new products and solutions to support the company’s expansion and other initiatives;
  • Identify opportunities for contracts for supply of equipment;
  • Assist with market research to remain topical within the industry;
  • Plan, organise and carry out customer training sessions;
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, especially data protection and safe guarding;
  • Be aware of and meet all UK legal and regulatory requirements and relevant company
  • policies, including those for Quality, Health and Safety, Anti-Bribery, and Competitive Compliance;
  • Work collaboratively with all other Care & Independence teams and individuals, especially Business Development and Marketing colleagues to maximise ALL revenue, margin and reputation opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential: Excellent written and spoken English. Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in sales; resolving issues and carrying out complex assessments.

Preferred: Assessment Experience in directly comparable role and industry field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential: Excellent understanding and knowledge of the social healthcare and acute healthcare sector. Problem solving experience. Equipment provision knowledge, environmental understanding
Customer service, relationship building, experience.

Preferred: Experience in directly comparable role and industry field. Knowledge around a risk assessment process. Assessment and or installation of disability equipment experience. Experience in a care provider environment

CARE & INDEPENDENCE/INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE

Essential: Knowledge of products within the industry.

Preferred: Knowledge of the company’s products and services

UK REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work in the UK. Full valid driving license.

IT

Essential: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.Internet-savvy. General PC, Smartphone familiarity.

Preferred: Quote generation and submission experience. Diary management.

TRAVEL

Essential: Ability to travel across geographical region and/or stay overnight occasionally

SPECIAL FEATURES/CONDITIONS
Due to the nature of the activity, there may be occasional requirement to undertake work outside
normal hours. The job entails occasional travel and stays away from home, normally within the defined geographical region.
